Kurt A. Alter, CPA

Kurt Alter is a Shareholder and the Firm’s Tax Team leader. His experience is diverse and suitable to a variety of business and individual tax, accounting, and consulting needs. He has over 30 years of experience in public accounting and two years as a chief financial officer of a closely held private company. Kurt received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa.
As leader of the Firm’s Tax Team, Kurt often serves as the main point of contact with the client and facilitates the meeting of the client's needs.
His direct experience with clientele relates to real estate developers and the construction industry, various types of manufacturers, tax-exempt entities, professional service providers including physician groups, retirement and estate planning, employee benefits and fringe benefits planning, the oil and gas industry, business valuations for multiple purposes and he has significant experience with litigation support and expert witness testimony.
Kurt has been an instructor for courses related to federal taxation of corporations, pass-through entities, and he has instructed individuals for international accounting firms and several state societies of CPAs. He served as an adjunct professor of Business Federal Taxation at Davenport University in Holland, Michigan. Kurt has also served as chairman and vice chairman for committees of state societies of CPAs.
He is currently licensed to practice public accounting in multiple states and belongs to various professional and community organizations.
