MSL’s Governmental Practice
Group is one of the Four Cornerstone’s of the Firm’s
practice.
As an organization in the government sector, you face unique
challenges. And those challenges are becoming more and more
complex with regulatory and legal changes, not to mention
ever-tightening resources and increased public scrutiny.

to find solutions? At MSL it is
our goal to be this guide.
Our Governmental
Practive Group is made up of a team of specialists who have
spent their careers learning about different segments of the
Government Sector. They are led by Dan O’Keefe, CPA. Dan’s focus is on serving
governmental entities. He is a nationally recognized speaker
and instructor of courses on governmental
topics and authored the Florida Single Audit Act. He
also serves on the AICPA State and Local Government Expert
Panel.
Accounting and auditing
standards are being issued at a record pace. Staying current
has become more challenging for accounting professionals in
the government sector. Between budget cuts and time
constraints it is difficult to find inexpensive continuing
professional education. We provide between 16-24 hours of
CPE each year to our clients to help them stay current. Our
client-hosting program has been very popular over the years.
With this program, a client agrees to host a full day of CPE.
We provide the training, the client’s staff attend, our
staff attend and other clients attend. This creates a
wonderful opportunity to network with other clients and get
us all on the same page with regard to significant
accounting and audit changes.
