Karin Vickers is a Director at Moore Stephens Lovelace, P.A.
and is a member of the Firm’s Tax Team. She
has over 23 years of experience in public, private and
governmental accounting and taxation. Karin is a member of
the Firm’s Senior Housing Practice Group and works heavily
with not-for-profit clients.
Experience
Karin has extensive experience
providing tax consulting and preparation services to
not-for-profit organizations including public charities and
private foundations. She advises clients on tax issues that
are specific to the not-for-profit sector and maintains a
strong knowledge base of the compliance issues related to
tax filings for charitable organizations. As the leader of
the Firm’s Tax Team, Karin often serves as the main point of
contact with the client and facilitates the meeting of their
needs.
Karin provides consulting services regarding not-for-profit
issues including unrelated business income, private
inurement and the conversion process from public charity to
private foundation. She manages and reviews the preparation
and filing of clients’ 990 tax forms. She provides tax
planning and ensures compliance with the applicable
regulations. In light of proposed legislation, which is
increasingly stringent with regard to not-for-profit tax
compliance and governance, Karin assists clients in
understanding forthcoming legislative matters and their
implications. She also works with clients to design and
implement the most efficient solutions for the client’s
individual needs.
